Successful Quality Excellence OnSite 2014

Several CAQ.Net users and other quality aficionados came together in the small town of Königsheim on the 11th of November to participate in this year’s Quality Excellence OnSite event hosted by the metalworking company Aicher Präzisionstechnik.

Tour of the Aicher production facility

A Comprehensive Quality Management System

The event was opened by Mrs Franziska Aicher, the commercial director of Aicher Präzisionstechnik. The following presentation by Mr Emil Buschle, responsible for IT, organization, and logistics at Aicher, highlighted the impressive history and milestones of the company – whose customers are amongst the crème de la crème of German automobile manufacturers. In a subsequent presentation, the participants learnt about the high standards that the company sets itself regarding the quality of its products. Mr Buschle proudly explained how the CAQ.Net® quality management software was implemented at Aicher and provided first hand evidence of how it allows the company to achieve sustainable quality excellence in the automotive sector.

Following lunch and a short software overview by CAQ AG, Mr Georg Huber, the quality assurance director at Aicher, was in charge of the second block of the day’s presentations. He provided detailed insights into the usage of the complaint management, FMEA, and initial sample inspection modules at the company. Tours of the production facility took place en parallel to the second block of the afternoon. Due to the great number of participants, a total of three individual tours were required. The highlight of each tour was the application of multi-point measuring devices at Aicher.

Impressions

Multi-Point Measurements

Multi-point measuring devices comprising up to 14 parallel gauges are used at Aicher to examine the precise fitting of complex assemblies which each consist of between 2 and 41 individual parts. The assemblies are placed into the measuring device and – at the push of a button – 17 values are simultaneously acquired and fed directly into the CAQ system. The data is then immediately available for further companywide processing. Following a question and answer session regarding the CAQ.Net® software family, the participants headed home filled with great impressions of how computer aided quality assurance can benefit each and every production workflow.

A Big Thank You

We would hereby like to thank all participants of this year’s Quality Excellence OnSite event in Königsheim and would like to extend our particular gratitude to Aicher Präzisionstechnik – our excellent host for the day. The informative and entertaining presentations by Mr. Buschle and Mr Huber granted an invaluable insight into their day-to-day quality management activities and provided a real-life overview of the application of CAQ.Net® in their company.
