The Quality Excellence Days are annual information seminars in which we present the latest trends and innovations from within the field of quality management, discuss fundamental quality management concepts, and show how software solutions can be applied to tackle the quality related challenges encountered in your day-to-day business. Let us explain to you the often complex ins and outs of contemporary quality management in an easy to understand manner via cutting-edge CAQ software solutions. The seminars are free of charge. The Revision of ISO 9001
It goes without saying, that this year’s revised version of ISO 9001 is one of the predominant topics for quality managers all around the globe. Over one million companies are certified according to this standard and each and every one of them is affected by the changes that have been made within the course of its revision. This is why the focus of this year’s Quality Excellence Days lies firmly on the revised version of ISO 9001 and the changes that have been implemented. ISO 9001:2015 – What Has Changed?
This part of our event addresses the new contents and new high level structure (HLS) of the standard and highlights the various milestones and deadlines that lie ahead for all certified and aiming-to-be-certified companies. We will furthermore be looking at the growing structural harmonization of the ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 50001 (energy), and ISO 14001 (environment) standards and show which synergies can be drawn from said harmonization. The final part of this presentation addresses the “Leadership” chapter of ISO 9001:2015 and explains how you can successfully motivate and include your employees in the concerted effort of fulfilling quality-related objectives and targets.
Organizational Context and Knowledge Management
The identification and inclusion of an organization’s interested parties and other external issues now featured in the revised version of ISO 9001 have broadened the scope of the standard. It, for example, now goes beyond the previous process and documentation requirements and demands that suppliers and external guidelines are also incorporated in the quality management system. Hence, the first part of this presentation addresses aspects such as supplier management, auditing, and training management – aspects which now all play a greater role in the standard. The second part looks at the management of knowledge in a company and thereby highlights how a CAQ system can facilitate greater data transparency and allow you to create and maintain a comprehensive knowledge database.
Risk Management and Risk Treatment Options
ISO 9001 now places more importance on the management of risks. It now requires that a company must evaluate companywide risks and consider them within its general course of operations. Tools such as FMEA, brainstorming, questionnaires, and benchmarking are to be applied in order to systematically assess aspects relating to product/financial/environmental/technical/logistical or legal risks. This presentation therefore introduces sophisticated solutions for risk analysis, risk, assessment, and risk ranking, which are then placed in the context of complaint management, CAPA, and non-conformity.
Process Orientation and Process Management
The increased process orientation of ISO 9001:2015 manifests itself in the new management approach for developing, implementing, and improving the effectiveness of a company’s quality management system. Apart from demanding a precise specification of the input/output of every process in a company, the standard also asks that performance indicators are measured and responsibilities are clearly specified and adhered to. This presentation therefore deals with process, document, action, and training management and shows how these solutions can be applied in order to create a structured process landscape and ensure that employees “live” the processes in a company.
